Change Your Lens: Change Your Reality

The things that I share with you today, I promise you probably not anything that you've never heard before, but we as adult learners oftentimes need reminders and I want to make sure that we get the reminders of the right things.
So how does the exposure really affect how your brain works? If you watch the news, is the news typically negative or positive?
Absolutely negative, so you then you think negative things are happening and you think it’s at a disproportionate rate. As a matter of fact, I’ve heard that 50% of the news is not even accurate. I got rid of TV 8 years ago; haven't missed it for a minute!
It's really interesting, but you see it in multiple places. Before I started my own business, I worked in the pharmaceutical industry and there's a thing called Medical School Syndrome. I worked with the academic people and basically these are people that were becoming physicians. So the first year of medical school they study symptoms of things and what this Medical School Syndrome is, is whatever you're studying, you seem to have.
Now, I was in Southern California, so you can imagine leprosy is not a big thing, but sure enough the medical students had it. But I knew they really had it when our male students were having menopausal symptoms.
So whatever lens you're looking through determines what your reality is, not reality, but the lens we’re looking through. So if you change your lens, you can change your reality. What’s really amazing, is just like you learned in that Ken Blanchard exercise, in a moment, in an instant, you can change the lens that you're looking through and change the way you behave.
So what does this mean to you?
If you aren't getting the results that you want, in an instant you can change it and change the direction that you're going.
